Key Personnel

Among ShowSys' many strengths is the range of expertise we can call upon. This gives us the capacity to tackle the most complex projects and maintain our high standard of credibility. With over 35 years combined experience, the ShowSys team has some of the finest design and technical management skills and a history of delivering on budget and on schedule.

Scott Arnold Scott Arnold

Scott has been involved in major theme park projects for Busch Entertainment, Universal, Six Flags, Herschend Family Entertainment and Warner International. He has led the ShowSys design and installation team for such award-winning projects as KaTonga in Busch Gardens Africa and Believe in Sea World Orlando and Sea World San Diego.

His touring production experience includes Disney Fair the largest touring production in history; and the Disney's Animal Kingdom promotional tour. Other projects include numerous stunt shows, ice shows and several visitors' areas.

With ShowSys he has been involved with some of the largest audio distribution networks in the world and broadcast video distribution, including most of the ships in the Princess Cruises fleet.

Since 1999 he has been a principal of ShowSys technical directing, designing, programming and managing advanced control, audio and video systems.

Jason Pontius Jason Pontius

After studying technical entertainment at the University of South Florida, Jason spent two and a half years working at Busch Gardens Tampa where he was involved with most of the venues and shows throughout the park.

Throughout the early 90's, Jason freelanced as a lighting designer and audio engineer for numerous theatrical shows and musical performances. In 1996 Jason joined Renaissance Entertainment initially to work on designing the largest theater in Thailand. He continued with Renaissance to help produce several shows and attractions, including the largest touring production in history, Disney Fair.

While continuing to work on occasional productions, Jason ventured outside the entertainment field in 1998 and spent more than three years as a software engineer where he led a team of developers in designing, creating and supporting custom software applications.

In 2002, Jason returned to the entertainment industry as co-founder of ShowSys, specializing in advanced control and media systems. With his combined experience in software development and technical entertainment, Jason plays a key role in the design and programming aspects of many ShowSys projects, including the award-winning production of Shamu's Believe at SeaWorld Orlando and San Diego.

Some of Jason's selected projects include the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center visitor's areas, ship-wide control and audio distribution for many of the cruise ships in the Princess and Cunard fleets, control applications for numerous Las Vegas casinos, and several touring productions.

Roger Bates

Growing up in a theme park family, Roger experienced the entertainment industry at an early age. Roger has a diversified background including experience with mall entertainment complexes for the Rouse Company of Maryland, cinema projection for Wehrenberg Theaters, and almost 30 years in theme parks. Roger’s years in theme parks include time with Six Flags and primarily SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment and encompass a diversified skill set. He has installed and maintained numerous venues in several parks around the country. Laser, pyro, film, lighting, and primarily video are all areas of expertise. He has trained and managed operators and technicians and has spent many years working on special event production and new show installation. Some of Roger’s video and film projects include: laser and film on water screen for Mermaids Myths and Monsters, The Mystic Nights of Tir Na Nog; film projection for Manatees the Last Generation; video editing and programming for Sea of Trees; video for One Ocean, Shamu Rocks, Shamu Believe, Shamu World Focus, and Shamu Rocks America. In 2006 he met and worked with ShowSys while he was programming the Daktronics screens for the Believe show at Shamu stadium in Orlando and San Diego. After working with ShowSys on several other SeaWorld projects, he joined the ShowSys team in 2010.

Greg Kirkland

Greg Kirkland has been responsible for designing, installing and programming audio systems in world-class performance venues as well as engineering live shows throughout the world for over 30 years. In that time, international projects have taken Greg throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He has mixed concert tours for Liza Minnelli, Andy Williams, Burt Bacharach, Julie Andrews and Creedence Clearwater Revisited, among others. Additionally, Greg has functioned as an audio consultant for several television programs including The Arsenio Hall Show and The Tonight Show.

As a founding partner of Thomas Gregor Associates, Greg designed and programmed audio systems and oversaw production of the company's larger and more complex projects for clients including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Boeing, Staples Center and Cedars Sinai to name a few. Further, he has designed and installed systems for several Las Vegas venues including The Stardust Hotel, Sam's Town Resort, and the Las Vegas Academy for the Performing Arts.

Greg has extensive experience in the themed entertainment industry and has worked on theme parks, attractions and expos all over the globe. Some of these projects include the 1993 International Exposition (Taejon, Korea), Tarzan Rocks! Disney's Animal Kingdom (Orlando, FL), Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, Poseidon's Fury & Dueling Dragons Universal Studios Islands of Adventure (Orlando, FL), Doogam Volcano Doogam Land (Seoul, Korea), Innoventions Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), and The Adventures of Sinbad & Fantastic Odyssey Lotte World (Seoul, Korea). Additionally, for the All-American Sportpark in Las Vegas, Greg designed and oversaw construction and commissioning of park-wide and venue specific audio systems along with integrated video and lighting systems to create the ultimate sports experience for this multimedia sports based theme park.

Greg has been involved in dozens of cruise ship new-builds and refits in various capacities including systems designer, engineer, programmer, and commissioning team member. He was awarded the 2006 ARCHI-TECH magazine award for Princess Cruise's highly successful Movies Under The Stars outdoor cinema venue.

Evan Hall

With over 20 years in the audio industry, Evan has been immersed in audio from the age of five. During his professional career he has worked with industry leaders and engineers and used this experience to climb to their level. Working in churches, colleges, corporate theater and concert touring as well as in the studio, Evan has grown to be an extremely flexible designer able to fill almost any role within the industry. With a background and education in Syn-Aud-Con, acoustics, electronics design, and theory Evan has proven to be a valuable addition to the ShowSys team. Being multifaceted, he has been able to wear many different hats. In the past Evan has worked for Walt Disney Entertainment filling the role as a Audio Engineer and Designer; LMG inc as the Audio Director over Integration, Touring, and Live Events; as well as touring and mixing such acts as Rob Thomas, One Republic, Jonas Brothers, Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift.

Andrew Burden

A 20+ year veteran in Theatrical Project Management, Andrew received a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theatre from the University of Kentucky and was immediately hired as the Resident Designer for all scenery, lighting and audio for Army Community Theatre at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

From 1990 to 2001, Andrew worked for the Walt Disney Company, coordinating projects in North America, Europe and Asia. Starting in Florida, he managed hundreds of special events, designed the Cinderella Crystal Coach for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and provided technical direction for Disney Cruise Line during ship construction in Venice, Italy.

At the request of Walt Disney Entertainment, Andrew relocated to California to establish a CAD Department supporting a second theme park in Japan, Tokyo DisneySea. After initial ground breaking in 1998, he relocated to Tokyo as Entertainment Field Office Manager, working in tandem with Walt Disney Imagineering during construction, installation, test/adjust and grand opening. He coordinated ten entertainment programs in seven venues.

Recently, Andrew was the Fabrication Manager for Czarnowski Exhibit Services in Las Vegas, overseeing the CAD Department and coordinating the design & fabrication of custom exhibit booths for trade shows.

Bryce Hershner

Bryce received his education from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Production and Engineering.

Over the past 20 years in the entertainment industry, Bryce previously worked for Busch Entertainment, Walt Disney Entertainment and LMG Show Technology.

While working for Disney, Bryce worked as an Audio Engineer as well as a System Designer working on theme park projects such as Tokyo Disney Sea and theater installations such as Theater of the Stars and Backlot Theater at Disney/MGM Studios.

After almost 10 years with Disney, Bryce was hired by LMG Show Technology, an audio, video and lighting company that specialized in corporate entertainment and system integration. During the 8 years at LMG, he served as a Technical Manager, Accounts Manager and Director of Show Services and Integration where he managed a large department of Technicians and Account Executives. While working as a Technical Manager, Bryce designed and built an Audio Department from the ground up, resulting in LMG becoming a leader in corporate audio technology. Eventually, Bryce was promoted to Accounts Manager and later Director of Show Services and Integration where he ran the entire Sales as well as the System Integration Departments.

Brian Paiva

Brian Paiva has been involved in the development, strategic planning, design, production, licensing and branding of entertainment projects and properties around the world for over 25 years. He has extensive experience in the areas of television & film production, licensing, Internet, gaming, retail and theme parks & attractions development. Brian is also well versed in all aspects of the cruise industry and has worked on scores of newbuild and refit projects. He has consulted on projects for Kodak, MTV, Caesar's Palace, City of Las Vegas, Universal Studios, DirecTV, UPN, Sony, Blockbuster and several pro sports organizations among others. Brian has held management positions with Kezia, Thomas Gregor Associates, Fugitive Films, Landmark Entertainment Group, The Omnis Company and The Fashion Channel, among others.
